Conveyancing industry gets together for Groundsure’s Charity Golf Day and raises a fantastic £6,000!

On the 5th September, members of the conveyancing industry gathered at The Welcombe Golf Club to attend Groundsure’s Charity Golf Day 2024 edition.

This day aimed to raise money for two wonderful charities which are very close to our hearts, Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer UK. 

We would like to thank once again all the teams and sponsors who contributed. Thank you all for your support and your generous donations, it is much appreciated. We are proud to announce that we raised a total of £6,000, a fabulous amount that we will equally split between our two charities.

Despite some drizzle in the morning, the spirits were high during registrations and it was a chance for all the attendees to mingle.

Following our welcome speech from Groundsure’s newly appointed CEO, Malcolm Smith, the teams got ready for their shotgun start at 11am.

Ady Wheatcroft from ACE Challenge joined us to supervise scoring and entertain the players on the course with his impressive skills and trick shots.

After a few hours of going round the beautiful 18 holes course, it was time to head back to the club house for some refreshments and a chance to discuss the day’s performances. 

Most importantly, it was the chance to watch Ady’s video showcasing everyone’s attempts at his tricks throughout the day as well as the Hole in One competition. A very entertaining watch!

Once the results were delivered and the lucky winners got their raffle prizes, it was time for a well deserved carvery dinner followed by a set from comedian Ian Moore who joined us all the way from France to entertain our guests. The day concluded with some more networking and a few drinks at The Welcombe Hotel bar. 

I would like to thank everyone for joining us for another brilliant Charity Golf Day and a big thank you to the Groundsure team, and special guests, for all their help on the day. I would also like to thank Ben and his team at The Welcombe Golf Club who were as always very helpful and really looked after us.

I very much enjoy working on this event as it is a big part of our efforts to give back to charities, local communities and to support great causes. 

I do hope more firms and suppliers get involved and that we get to host it once more.
